MSDT
Master Scuba Diver Trainer Internship
Once you have successfully completed the IDC you have an opportunity to achieve the rating of Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) through our 4-5 day MSDT internship program.
The pre-requisites for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating are five specialties and have 25 PADI Diver certifications. Once the preparation course is completed and if you opt for the MSDT internship you will actually get to teach and certify 25 students in one of our many centers, teaching all levels including entry level Open Water students, Advanced Open water courses, Rescue Diver courses and Specialties. On completion of the internship you will be ready to send your application off to PADI for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating
We will start the MSDT internship off by having you team teach with one of our experienced instructors, assisting on several courses from beginner up to Rescue diver levels (where possible). Team teaching with an experienced instructor will provide you with valuable hints and tips on how to conduct the courses and provide an insight on how to schedule courses effectively. Once you receive your teaching status as an OWSI from PADI, we will then allow you to begin to teaching more independently, having one of our experienced instructors on hand to supervise and answer any questions that might arise.
The MSDT program is split up in two parts;
The MSDT Prep which includes 5 Instructor Specialty ratings PLUS the Nitrox/Enriched Air Instructor Specialty rating. The MSDT Prep program is 22.500,-Baht
The MSDT Internship where you get to certify 25 PADI divers at various levels. The MSDT Internship is 25.000,- Baht
During the 4-5 day program, you can choose to become an instructor in five of the following specialties:
- Enriched Air
- Deep Diving
- Digital Underwater Photography (DUP) *
- Underwater Naturalist
- Multilevel & Computer Diving
- Search and Recovery
- Night Diver
- Underwater Navigation
- Boat Diver
- PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider
- AWARE Fish ID
Additional specialties available at a surcharge are:
- DSAT Gas Blender *
- Equipment Technician
- DPV (Underwater Scooter) *
- Wreck Diver *
- Drift Diver *
- Dry Suit Diver *
Some of these specialties, marked with an * may have additional cost, like rental costs of specialty equipment or required PADI materials.
Completing the MSDT Internship and having 25 certifications behind you will certainly give you a cutting edge and a head start in finding a job in the industry. On completion of the course we will try to find you a job in either one of our own centers or a local dive shop.
Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Instructor is included in the MSDT prep and internship package. As a stand alone PADI Instructor Specialty course it does have additional costs.
